Ingredients
- 1 kg Chicken
- 1 cup Shallots
- 1 no Onion
- 2 nos Tomato(small)
- 2 sprigs Curry leaves
- 1 small piece Crushed ginger
- 6 nos Crushed garlic cloves
- 2 nos Crushed green chilly
- 2 tbsps Coriander powder
- 1/2 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 small piece Cinnamon stick
- 3 nos Cloves
- 5 nos Cardamom pods
FOR ROAST:
- 1 cup Grated coconut
- 5 nos Shallots
- 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
FOR TEMPERING:
- 4 nos Chopped shallots
- 2 sprigs Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil

Instructions
- Clean and cut the chicken,wash well and drain it .
- Marinate the chicken with all masala powders and salt, keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat 1tbsp oil in a pan add grated coconut,shallots, fennel seeds and curry leaves roast until it golden brown.remove from the fire,allow to cool then grind a smooth paste and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a vessel add whole masalas,sliced onion,crushed shallots,green chilly,ginger,garlic and curry leaves saute until onion is golden brown.
- Now add tomato and marinated chicken saute for 5 minutes then add required hot water cook in low flame until it is done.
- Once it is done add roasted ground coconut stir well,When it is start to boil remove from the fire then tempering above mentioned ingredients.
- Varutharacha kozhi curry is ready to serve. Enjoy!!!!!! with pathiri or ghee rice.
