Hi friends,
Today i am sharing a traditional kerala dish with tapioca/kappa/cassava.It is one of the most popular dish in kerala.This delicious dish goes well with fish/meen curry.

Ingredients
- 1 kg Tapioca (kappa)
- 11/2 cup Grated coconut
- 8 nos Shallots
- 4 nos Green chilly
- 3 nos Garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
FOR SEASONING:
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 3 nos Dry chilly
- 2 sprigs Curry leaves

Instructions
- Peel the tapioca,cut into small cubes and wash well.
- In a vessel add cleaned tapioca and enough water (the water level should be 2-3 inches higher than tapioca) then cook uncovered and allow to boil.
- When the water boils,remove from fire and drain the water and again add same amount of water, salt and turmeric powder then cook until it done.
- Once it cooked, drain off the water using a colander and keep it aside.
- Crush cumin,shallots,green chilly and garlic together and keep aside.
- In a vessel add cooked tapioca, crushed mix and grated coconut, combine well then cover and cook on low flame until water evaporates well.
- Now mash tapioca with a wooden spatula and cook 2more minutes then remove from heat.
- Seasoning it with above mentioned ingredients,tapioca vevichathu is ready!.
- Serve warm with nadan fish curry..Enjoy.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
